The founding of
the monastery of Santa Maria de Mur in the XII century spelled the end of the
nearby castleÕs bellicose existence. As a result the Castle of Mur is an
almost unique example of unmodified Romanesque military architecture. The
restored cloister is one of the centrepieces of the complex, which, as well
as being open to the public, hosts an annual Aplec, or get together, on the
first Sunday in May. |
